We
all organize parties on our auspicious days. Sometimes it’s either
a small get together or a big fat event. In either of the occasion,
there are times when friend spills the remnants of their wine glass
on your favorite and expensive sofa or upholstery furniture.
In
such case, what do you do when all have left the party? Do you sit
down and start washing your upholstery yourself or contact a local
contract for that matter.
Out
of both the options, contacting a cleaner is an optimal solution to
tackle the problem of cleaning upholstery. They follow certain steps
that help restore your furniture or fabric safely.
Following
mentioned below are three methods used to clean upholstery by local dry cleaning experts
1.
Dry cleaning: Fabrics
that are sensitive or prone to shrinkage they are cleaned via dry
cleaning method. Commonly used fabrics for done dry cleaning are silk
covered products.
Out
of all the three methods, it is the most effective and cheapest
method of cleaning. Following is the process involved in it:
- Firstly, the upholstered furniture is vacuumed. This helps in removing all the dust and dirt that is accumulated between the crevices of furniture.
- Once fabric is cleaned, a foaming agent is used over upholstery. The agent is then allowed to rest for specific period of time.
- Once the foaming agent has settled, it is then cleared.
- Later the furniture is vacuumed and the left dirt or dust is removed.
2.
Shampooing: This
method is applicable for cotton or rayon products. It is a time
consuming method as compared to dry cleaning. This method involves
the following steps:
- Dry foam is applied on fabric in even amounts.
- Till the foam is not dried, it is not removed. This helps prevent shrinkage or excessive damage of the fabric.
- The stained part is left dry for a certain period of time like seven to ten hours and later washed.
3.
Hot water extraction (steam cleaning):
Out of all methods, it is a versatile cleaning method because it can
be used on any type of fabric. This process involves:
- Firstly, the fabric is pre-conditioned with soil emulsifier. This helps loosen the dirt particles which are accumulated into the fabric.
- With a special kind of detergent, then the fabric is shampooed.
- Then with the help of scrub brush, the shampoo is rubbed on the fabric. This helps to further loosen the dirt.
- Finally, steam cleaning is performed, which involves removing of remaining dirt or residue. Then to dry the fabric, a fan is used.
