What processes are involved in dry cleaning?

Majority of the people think that dry cleaning involves cleaning of suits, shirts, dresses, jackets and delicate clothes, but in actuality, it is lot more than that! Dry cleaning is also for the carpets, rugs and fabric-covered furniture options, besides regular clothes.

If, you want to keep your precious dresses in the same condition as you had bought it then go for local dry cleaning professionals in your vicinity. All you would have to do is drop your clothes to local dry cleaner and return after few hours to collect it.

From the time we have dropped our clothes to cleaners till we collect it, we aren’t aware of the steps that professionals take to clean our clothes. If you are interested to know about it here are few common process that majority of the dry cleaners follow:

Dry Clean

Clothes having stains are first cleaned with the process of dry clean. Here in this process, solvent that is used contains chemical which helps remove the stains effectively, which is likely not possible when clothes are put into the detergent water. There are times when fabric can’t directly be put into the water because it can spoil the material of fabric; or if greasy or fatty stains are there then that too can’t be removed with simple water. Therefore, there comes the need of solvent which is only present in the dry cleaning process.

The process of dry cleaning involves two stages: pre-treatment and washing.

Pre-treatment involves application of chemicals on the stains or marks and washing involves removal of the applied stains.

Wet Clean

In similarity to dry clean pre-treatment process, the stains on fabric is removed by the application of chemicals over it and later is cleaned in a washing machine with few other chemicals that help prohibit any loss of color, shrinkage or any other changes to the fabric.

Laundering

The professionals involved in dry cleaning process make use of chemicals which are stronger than any other chemicals that are used in home by people. Once the dry cleaning process is over, the professionals do the laundering of the clothes and give it a final touch before handing it over to the client.

The local dry cleaning methods mentioned above in this document are the best methods that help keep the expensive rugs and clothes reserved.
